Actively seeking QA Engg with Bio Tech/ Life Sciences background. Long Term contract in Bay Area, CA.

Responsibilities:

Ability to understand and explain domain concept to the team in correct and timely manner.
Ability to interact with customer to figure out the details of work related to domain area.
Works as an embedded domain resource in the team of size 4-5 on Life Sciences projects.

Qualifications:

BE/MSc or Equivalent in life sciences streams like molecular biology, biotechnology, medicine, bioinformatics etc. with exposure to informatics courses in life sciences

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in Life Sciences IT industry. Experience in NGS is good to have.

Required Skills:

Good knowledge of at least one programming environment like Perl, Python, Shell etc.
Sound knowledge of high throughput NGS techniques & algorithms.
Sound knowledge of different databases like MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL etc.
Skills in writing and executing test cases, keeping log of results and finding/logging of bugs.
Sound knowledge of software development methodologies; especially agile.
Ability to gather information on new concepts in the domain and make presentations.
